Featuring different themes/topics every year, Perspective Matters is a writing competition by Qazini, a Kenyan media organisation that aims to we use the power of stories to uplift, inspire, and challenge existing narratives and champion the spectrum of voices and perspectives from the African continent.
This year, we received more submissions than in 2021 from four African countries, the same as in 2021.

Mystery Books, an imprint Mystery Publishers, has cancelled the publication of Sketches of Urban Strife: An Anthology of New Age African Poetry due to challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the editor in-charge of the project got engaged somewhere else and won’t be able to proceed with the project in the foreseeable future.
