Featuring different themes/topics every year, Perspective Matters is a writing competition by Qazini, a Kenyan media organisation that aims to we use the power of stories to uplift, inspire, and challenge existing narratives and champion the spectrum of voices and perspectives from the African continent.

After the official launch of ‘Our Stories Redefined Anthology’ during the NYrobi Book Fest on 25 June 2022, emceed and moderated by Filmmaker and critic Simiyu Barasa, there was a panel discussion comprising Vincent De Paul, contributor Jerusha Kananu Marete, and Sharon Maritim who edited and proofread the anthology.
This year, we received more submissions than in 2021 from four African countries, the same as in 2021.
The Mystery Publishers annual ‘Our Stories Redefined’ anthology does not only provide an opportunity for new authors to be published, but it also celebrates new African writing.
