The Kenyan Readathon is an annual book event dedicated to Kenyan books and authors only. Launched in 2020 by Booktuber and literary activist Lexa Lubanga, the one-month long event encourages readers to read Kenyan-authored books to promote Kenyan authors as well as support local bookstores.
The 2022 edition was held at Alliance Française de Nairobi on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. The event is majorly an online event, but this year Lexa felt the need to bring the writers and readers together for a discussion on “Literary Methods and The Future of Kenyan Writing”.
Publishers, bookstores, readers, book reviewers, and book lovers graced the event. Join this noble cause by reading Kenyan authors this September, as many as possible. For the list of the books of the month, please click here
