Featuring different themes/topics every year, Perspective Matters is a writing competition by Qazini, a Kenyan media organisation that aims to we use the power of stories to uplift, inspire, and challenge existing narratives and champion the spectrum of voices and perspectives from the African continent.
Perspective Matters, launched in 2021, that invites participants to look at the challenges we face in our society through a solution rather than a problem-focused lens. The competition is open to writers of Kenyan descent to create stories of endless possibilities within our collective reach, as human beings.
The 2022 competition is open for submissions. The theme for 2022 is courage, with participants expected to write stories of bravery, whether from the individual or community level—stories that sparked reinvention, recalibration, or new dawn in how things are perceived and done.
