Verah Omwocha is a passionate and versatile creative with a rich background in creative and scientific writing, editing, book publishing, and communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from the University of Nairobi, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Literature from Kenyatta University.
She has co-authored four books for the Kenyan curriculum for primary and secondary levels, published several short stories, and three children’s books. Her most recent publication is her memoir, Diary of the Miaha. She won the 2017/8 Tito Livio Award for Historical Fiction for her short story, ‘The Crescent Moon’.
She served as the Publishing Manager at Writers Guild Kenya from 2018-2021, where she helped publish 15 authors. She has also offered editorial consultancy services to the Kenyan Publishing Industry and outside the country, including the Penguin Books imprint, Ladybird, UK. She presently provides editorial support to the communications team at Strathmore University.
