PHOTOS: Reflections on a Remarkable Twin Book Launch

Last weekend, on Saturday 28 June 2025, Mystery Publishers proudly hosted the unforgettable launch of Dawn to Dust by Emmanuel Marete Kimathi, a 14-year-old author with rare depth, and Marry Me a Co-Wife by Jerusha Kananu Marete at Baraza Media Lab, Nairobi. The mother-son duo was a spectacle to behold, a celebration of African storytelling that stirred hearts and sparked dialogue.

The event featured a vibrant panel discussion that delved into themes of identity, tradition, and resilience, with authors and literary thinkers exchanging insights that left the audience inspired and introspective.

We were deeply honoured to welcome Prof Austin Bukenya as our Chief Guest, a towering figure in East African literature whose presence was a privilege. His reflections on oral literature and the power of storytelling reminded us why he is affectionately known as Mwalimu across the region.

Among the distinguished attendees was Dr John Mutunga, bibliophile and Member of Parliament for Tigania West Constituency, whose support for literary initiatives continues to champion the growth of Kenyan narratives. The launch also drew high-ranking government officials, cultural advocates, and esteemed guests from across sectors, all united by a shared love for stories that matter.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating these two powerful works. Your presence made the event not just a launch, but a movement.
